17. To adjust the gas pressure to the burner:
NOTE: The gas valve’s internal
regulator should only be adjusted
after the upstream gas pressure
is acceptable.
a) Turn the TEMPERATURE control dial
to OFF.
b) Stop the unit and turn power OFF at
the main disconnect switch.
c) Remove the cap to the gas valve’s
internal regulator to access the adjust-
ment screw.
d) Turn the adjustment screw clockwise/
in to increase pressure or counterclock-
wise/out to decrease pressure.
e) Replace the pressure regulator cap.
f) Repeat Steps 5 to 16.
NOTE: If burner ignition is not
successful after several attempts,
refer to Heating System on
page 6-12. If the problem
cannot be solved, contact a local

distributor or Chicago
Dryer Company’s Factory Service
Department.
18. Once the burner ame is maintained, ob-
serve the appearance of the ames along
the burner. A normal ame extends to the
top of the inside of the cylinder and bends
back slightly (Figure 2-23). If the ame
does not match this, contact the Factory
Service Department.
19. Turn the TEMPERATURE control dial
to OFF.
20. Stop the unit and turn power OFF at the
main disconnect switch.
21. Disconnect the manometer and reinstall
the plug When replacing the plug, use pipe
thread compound to avoid leaks. Teon
tape is not recommended.
22. Close and secure the left endframe door.
