ofeachpadoracousticdrumtrigger(drumpickup),youmaynoticethatidenticalhits(velocity)may
producesoundatdifferentvolumes.Ifthisoccurs,youcanadjusttheSCANTIMEsothatyour
velocityofplayingcanbedetectedmoreprecisely.Asthevalueissethigher,thetimeittakesforthe
soundtobeplayedincreases.
Onakickpad,forexample,ifthebeaterbouncesbackandstrikesthepadasecondtimeimmediately
aftertheintendedstrokeor,likewithacousticdrumsifyouleavethebassdrumbeateragainstthe
headitcancauseasinglestriketodoubletrigger(twosoundsinsteadoftheintendedone).The
MaskTimesettinghelpstopreventsuchproblems.Onceapadhasbeenhit,anyadditionaltrigger
signalsoccurringwithinthespecifiedMASKTIMEwillbeignored.Whensettoahighvalue,itthen
becomeseasyforsoundstobeomittedwhenthekickisstruckrepeatedlyinrapidsuccession.Set
