6 Open up the 󰘱ap of the water tank (Fig. A, no. 7) and pull the wa-
ter tank up and out of the appliance and then empty it completely.
7 Add the descaling agent (e.g. Melitta
®
ANTI CALC Espresso Ma-
chines liquid descaling agent) to the water tank according to the
instructions on the packaging.

The descaling agent can cause skin irritations
Comply with the safety instructions and the dosing information
speci󰘰ed on the descaling agent packaging.
8 Reinsert the water tank.
9 Press the button for co󰘯ee strength to continue with the inte-
grated descaling programme.
→ The integrated descaling programme is started. Water 󰘱ows inside
the appliance into the drip tray in multiple intervals. This stage lasts
approximately 15 minutes. Subsequently, the symbol for the milk
shower illuminates.
→ Phase 1 is completed.
Phase 2
During Phase 2, two bean symbols are shown on the display.
10 Make sure that the co󰘯ee grounds container is placed directly
under the milk shower.
11 Turn the rotary switch for the milk shower (Fig. A, no. 11) clock-
wise to open the milk shower.
→ Water 󰘱ows out of the milk shower into the co󰘯ee grounds container.
The symbol for the milk shower 󰘱ashes during this process.
Subsequently, the symbol for the drip tray illuminates.
12 Leave the milk shower open.
13 Empty the drip tray and co󰘯ee grounds container.
