Why does my Metallisation Paint Sprayer pistol backfire?
    • D
      dixonmicheleAug 6, 2025
A Metallisation Paint Sprayer pistol might backfire due to several reasons: * Leaks in the Nozzle Assembly. Inspect ‘O’ Rings for damage or loss and tighten the Air Cover. * Oversize gas holes in the Nozzle Shell. Replace the Nozzle Shell. * Incorrect Pressures. Ensure that air, gas, and oxygen pressures are as recommended. * Incorrect Nozzle parts. Check the part numbers. * Restrictions in Oxygen/Gas holes in the Mixing Block. Check oxygen and gas ports and clean them if needed. * Debris in the Air Nipple. Carefully clean the Air Nipple. * Opening the valve too quickly. Open the Valve less quickly. * Wire protruding too far forward from the Nozzle. Pull the wire back until it is flush with the Nozzle face. * Wire feeding too fast. Slow down the wire speed.

What to do if the Metallisation MK 73 Paint Sprayer coating is too coarse?
    • L
      Lauren ClarkAug 11, 2025
If the coating from your Metallisation Paint Sprayer is too coarse, it could be due to: * Insufficient air pressure. Check the supply and readjust the regulator. * A dirty or damaged Air Nipple. Clean or replace the Air Nipple. * Wire feeding too fast. Slow down the wire speed. * The Air Nipple being jammed in the lighting position. Remove and refit the Air Nipple, ensuring it can move freely on the Nozzle. * Dirty or damaged Nozzle assembly parts. Remove and clean, or replace the Nozzle Assembly parts as needed.

How to fix wire sticking in Metallisation MK 73 nozzle assembly?
    • J
      Jacob ZimmermanNov 16, 2025
If the wire sticks in the Nozzle Assembly of your Metallisation Paint Sprayer, consider the following: * Wire speed might be too slow. Increase the wire speed until the wire tip extends a distance equal to 3 times the wire diameter outside the Air Nipple. * Feed roller tension might be insufficient. Check and adjust the feed roller tension. * There might be insufficient wire clearance in the Nozzle. Clean out the Nozzle bore with a suitable drill. * The wire might be dirty or damaged. Clean the wire with an oiled pad or replace it with fresh wire if the surface is badly damaged. * Wire scuffing might occur on the Start/Stop Wire Guide. Check for wear on the rear wire guide and for easy opening and closing of the rollers. * Wire stopped with extinguishing flame (3/16” Fast – 12...
