8.1 Flowmeter Settings
TYPE IV FLOWMETERS
Set the points to the numbers shown in the table below
Set the fuel and air pressure with the valve open and adjust the oxygen pressure to
achieve the desired flowmeter readings.
Note: It is not critical that the float tops align exactly with the values given in the chart.
Performance will be adequate as long as both floats are equally above or below the value.
The values given in the chart are before lighting settings when using propane fuel gas.These
values are just a guide. When the pistol is alight flows will fall. This is normal and a result of
increased back pressure within the Nozzle.

The figures shown assume the use of Metallisation Flashback Arrestors. If these are not used, the oxygen pressures
should be adjusted to suit. Since the oxygen pressure is varied to achieve the desired float positions the oxygen
pressures given are approximate.
