Chapter 5 Maintenance
Fill up Ink
Supplies ink to correct nozzle clogging.

Press the
(MENU)
key in LOCAL.
• MAINTENANCE MENU will be displayed.

Press to select “FILL UP INK”,
and press the key.

Press to select the filling type.
• Soft : Use this in cases where head cleaning
will not achieve recovery, such as when
multiple clogged nozzles occur or
nozzle cluster dropout occurs.
• Normal : Use this if nozzle cluster dropout occurs
in initial ink filling.
• Hard : Use this in cases where the dumper has
become empty, such as in dumper
replacement.

Press the key.
• If you selected “Soft” in step 3, a Select Fill Up
Color screen will be displayed.
If you selected “Normal” or “Hard”, go to step 6.

Press to select the filling color,
and press the key.

Press the key.
• Ink is supplied automatically.

Press the key several times to
end the setting.
White Ink Maintenance
White ink precipitates easier than other inks.
• If not printing more than two weeks, white ink may precipi-
tate in the ink cartridge or inside of this machine.
• When an ink precipitates, the nozzle may be clogged and
it can not draw normally.
• Make sure to perform periodical maintenance to avoid pre-
cipitation and to keep white ink in good condition.

Press to select “WHITE MAINT”,
and press the key.

Press the key.
• The automatic discharging operation and the
filling operation are performed, then, cleaning is
performed.

Press the key several times to
end the setting.
• Perform the maintenance below before working
once a week.
• Use the specified ink cartridge.
As the component of white ink is easy to settle
out, it is necessary to shake it periodically.
• When 24 hours have passed with the power
supply is ON.
• When the power supply is ON, the warning
message “SHAKE WHITE INK CARTRIDGES” is
displayed.
