13Use of the weighing system in legal metrology
13.1Components of a veriable weighing system
The ISEDE‑…CE weighing platform is a modular device. The weighing system in which this
weighing platform is connected is veriable for use in legal metrology only if this
platform is combined with a suitable terminal.
The weighing platform or weighing system may not be used for weighing goods intended
for direct sale to the public, and may not be used in legal metrology prior to the initial
verication.
The type-approval certicate for verication applies to non-automatic weighing
instruments.
Eect of the Preload on the Acceptability for Verication in the EU*

Only internal adjustment (calibration) is allowed for weighing instruments veried as legal
measuring instruments (refer to the operating instructions for the particular CAIS
industrial terminal you are using).
To have your weighing platform veried, you must change the preload setting before
verication only.
Following verication, the representative authorized to perform this procedure will ax
the respective ID labels and metrology sticker.
13.2Verication
Verication in Germany
The validity of the verication ends when the next but one calendar year has elapsed.
When the weighing instrument is used for the control of lling quantities according to the
regulation on prepackaging, the verication ends when the next calendar year has
elapsed. At present, re-verication is the responsibility of Weights and Measures ocials.
Re-verication should be requested in good time from the local Weights and Measures
oce. If necessary, please observe any statutory amendments.
Verication in other European countries
The period of validity of the verication is determined by the regulations of the particular
country in which the weighing instrument is used. For information on legal regulations
currently applicable in your country, and to obtain names of the persons responsible,
please contact the local Minebea Intec customer service center. Further information
concerning verication can be obtained from our customer service centers.
