Activating/deactivating Cross
Traffic Warning
The system must be activated on the Inter-
action Unit for the Cross Traffic Warning
and brake intervention to switch on auto-
matically.
1. Go through the menu as follows: Apps
menu / "Vehicle" / "Driving settings" /
"Driver Assistance" / "Parking".
2. Select the desired setting, depending on
vehicle equipment:
– "Rear warning"
– "Brake intervention at rear"
Turning on the cross traffic
warning automatically
The Cross Traffic Warning must be acti-
vated on the Interaction Unit. The system
turns on automatically as soon as Park Dis-
tance Control or a camera view activates
and you engage a gear position.
If reverse gear is engaged, the rear system
is switched on.
Depending on the national-market version,
the system is automatically active when the
vehicle is started.
Turning off the cross traffic
warning automatically
The Cross Traffic Warning switches off au-
tomatically in the following situations, for
example:
– When walking speed is exceeded.
– When a certain distance covered is ex-
ceeded.
Warning function
General information
With the Cross Traffic Warning, the In-
teraction Unit displays the corresponding
view, an acoustic signal may sound, and the
warning light on the exterior mirror flashes.
When a brake intervention is performed, a
message displays on the Interaction Unit
then closes after a short time.
Visual warning
Warning light in exterior mirror
The warning light in the exterior mirror
flashes if the rear sensors detect other vehi-
cles when the vehicle is reversing.
Display in the Park Distance Control view
In the Park Distance Control view, the re-
spective boundary area flashes red if vehi-
cles are detected by the sensors.
