System limits
If the tire cannot be made drivable, con-
tact an authorized service center or another
qualified service center or repair shop.
If vehicle is equipped with Tire Pressure
Monitor, note: Using tire sealant can dam-
age the tire pressure sensor. In this case,
have the air pressure sensor replaced at the
next opportunity.
Snow chains
Safety information
Warning
Mounting snow chains on unsuitable tires
can cause the snow chains to come into
contact with vehicle parts. There is a
risk of accident, injury, or property dam-
age. Only fit snow chains on tires recom-
mended by the vehicle manufacturer for
use with snow chains.
Warning
Insufficiently tight snow chains may dam-
age tires and vehicle components. There
is a risk of accident, injury, or property
damage. Make sure that the snow chains
are always sufficiently tight. Re-tighten as
needed according to the snow chain manu-
facturer's instructions.
Fine-link snow chains
The manufacturer of the vehicle recom-
mends the use of fine-link snow chains.
Certain types of fine-link snow chains have
been tested by the manufacturer of the ve-
hicle and recommended as road-safe and
suitable.
For information on suitable snow chains,
contact an authorized service center or
another qualified service center or repair
shop.
Use
Snow chains can only be used in pairs on
front wheels of the following wheel/tire
sizes:

195/50 R17 5.5J x 17 40
Information on the wheel size and rim off-
set is located on the inside of the wheel.
The list can also include wheel/tire sizes
that are only suitable for certain models.
Information on wheels and tires approved
for the vehicle can be requested from an au-
thorized service center or another qualified
service center or repair shop.
Follow the instructions of the snow chain
manufacturer.
If your vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pres-
sure Monitor, note the following: Do not
reset the Tire Pressure Monitor when us-
ing snow chains, otherwise incorrect values
may be displayed.
If your vehicle is equipped with a Flat Tire
Monitor, note the following: Do not initial-
ize the Flat Tire Monitor when using snow
chains, otherwise incorrect values may be
displayed.
When using with snow chains, activate
drive-off support to optimize the drive
power as necessary.
Maximum speed with snow chains
When using snow chains, do not exceed a
maximum speed of 30 mph/50 km/h.
