It is possible to change the time (from 1 min to 4 hours), units
and isotopes for these measurements from the Advanced sub-
menu Settings.
5.4.12 External Detectors (Ext.Det.)
External Detectors menu opens when detector with no memory
or with isotope options is connected to the meter. From this sub-
menu it is possible to change the detector profile, unit for
external detector. For isotope profile detectors there is the
possibility to change the used isotope. It is also possible to
change radiation type for detectors that are capable to detect
different radiations.
For example Gen.CHK.Def is profile for no-memory detector that
is tested for the pulse generation of the external probe. If no
pulses are detected for a given time the meter will show error
message.
Gen.No.Def is profile for no-memory detector that is not tested
for pulse generation. For instance alpha probes, and there are
no pulses at all (some of the probes are alpha sensitive only) in
the determined time window.

5.5 Shortcut Functions
The RDS-31 offers the Shortcut function to the user to ease
the daily activities. These functions can be configured with the
CSW-31 software. With the free version (LITE) of the CSW-31
software, the menu functions in the 2
nd
table below can be
configured to the RDS-31 instrument. With the CSW-31 PRO,
there are additional features, listed in the 4
th
table below, that
can be configured into the instrument Shortcuts.
