Mirtone QuickStart Front Panel Programming Getting Started Guide 32
Mapping
Mapping is a feature of QuickStart, but it does not have to be used. Mapping allows for
easy replacement of same type devices (replacing a -PS smoke for another –PS, for
example) without having to do any re-programming. If using the Configuration Utility
(CU) program, it will also allow you to view an electrical “riser” diagram of how all the
devices are connected to each other.
You can enable the mapping feature right after you’ve finished the AutoLearn –
AutoLoop process, or after you’ve finished configuring the panel completely. It may be
best, however, to enable the mapping feature after the panel is completely programmed.
This way, if there is a problem with mapping, you can leave mapping disabled, but still
have a fully functioning panel.
To enable mapping:
1. Press menu and log in as before.
2. Choose Enable > Loop Mapping.
3. Enter the address of the SLIC.
After you enter the address, the panel will begin mapping.
4. Press menu to exit programming.
The screen should display a Mapping in Progress message. This could take several
minutes depending on the number of devices on the loop, and how many t-taps there
are. When finished, the panel will display a Map Fault error message.
To clear the Map Fault, you’ll need to enter into programming again.
Clearing Map Fault:
1. Press menu and log in.
2. Choose Program > Configure > Card > Edit and enter the address of the SLIC.
3. Choose Accept Map.
The screen will display a count of the number of Expected
detectors and modules (what’s in the database), and the Actual
number of detectors and modules (what’s connected to the
SLIC). If the Expected count equals the Actual count, you can
proceed. If not, it may be due to wiring issues. This must be
resolved before you can continue.
4. If the counts match, press Enter. The database will update.
Expected:
# Detectors: 16
# Modules: 33
Actual:
# Detectors: 16
# Modules: 33
