Output groups - adding dialer strings
As we mentioned earlier, dialer strings are another type of output. They must also be
assigned to an output group if you’re using more than just the default strings. In the
previous section we showed how to create an output group and add devices to it.
Depending on how your system is configured, the dialer strings could be added to the
output groups at the same time, by selecting Dialer instead of Relay from the Response
Type menu.
For instance, in our example project we have one output group per floor which, includes
the signal circuits for the floor. We also want to send a dialer string for each floor that
goes into alarm, so we could add a dialer string to that floor’s output group.
Sometimes, however, an individual device needs to send its own dialer string. The
kitchen hood system monitor point in our example project has this requirement. In this
case, a separate output group for just this string has to be created.
This topic shows you how to add a dialer string to either a new output group or to an
existing output group.

To add a dialer string to an output group:
1. From the Configure menu, choose Outputs.
2. From the Edit Output menu:
Choose Add to create a new output group for just a dialer string

Choose Edit to add a dialer string to an existing output group
