Replacing Signature devices
If your system has the QuickStart mapping featured disabled, to replace a device you
must remove the old device from the project database, then add the new device to the
database. If mapping is enabled, simply replacing the device (if it’s the same type)
should be all that is required, with no further programming needed.
To replace a Signature device:
1. Physically remove the old device from the Signature loop and replace it with the new
device.
The panel displays a “Local Fault” trouble message for the old device and an
“Unconfigured Device” trouble message for the new device.
2. Press Menu on panel, then log in as before.
3. Choose Program > Configure > Cards > Edit > Config Detector (or Config Module).
4. Choose Delete, then enter the address or serial number of the old device.
5. Choose Exit, then Save Edits.
6. Starting from the Config Detector (or Config Module) menu, choose Add > Device
Address, enter an address for the new device (it can be the same address as the device
that was just removed), then enter the serial number for the new device .
7. For detectors, follow steps 3 through 7 of the topic “Card configuration - SLIC -
detectors.”
or—
For modules, follow steps 3 through 9 of the topic “Card configuration - SLIC -
modules.”
8. From the SLIC menu, choose Exit.
This returns you to the Configure menu.
9. Program the device to the appropriate zone or output group as described earlier.
10. From the Configure menu, choose Exit, then Save and Sync.
