Adding and deleting signature devices
After a system has been programmed, devices can easily be added or deleted from the
addressable loop.
Caution: Do not perform an AutoLoop to add devices to a system that has already been
programmed. Doing so will erase all previously programmed device information.
Adding devices
To add a Signature device:
1. Physically attach the device to the addressable loop.
The system will display an “Unconfigured Device” trouble message on the panel (if
mapping is enabled, you will also eventually get a Map Fault).
2. Press Menu on the panel, then log in.
3. Choose Program > Configure > Cards > Edit, then enter the address of the SLIC card
to which the device was added.
4. From the SLIC menu, choose Config Detect (or Module).
5. From the Config Detector (or Module) menu, choose Add.
6. Enter an unused address for the device then enter its serial number.
Here, you have to assign an address to the device, where as with AutoLoop the panel
does it.
7. For detectors, follow steps 3 through 7 of the topic “Card configuration - SLIC -
detectors.”
or—
For modules, follow steps 3 through 9 of the topic “Card configuration - SLIC -
modules.”
7. After the last Save Edits, press Menu on the panel.
This brings you back to the SLIC menu.
8. From the SLIC menu, choose Exit.
This returns you to the Configure menu.
