Remol-'81
(1) Disconnect hyPass hose (1) and pipe (2). To do s'
the thermostat elbow and wat er pu mp cl amp must
be displaced.

(2) Remove bracket (3) and fue l ruler (4).

Disconneet inj ec tion pipes (5), Ieak -o ff pipe (6)
and ,otll,n pipe (7) .

(4) Remove rocker cover. and take OU t the rocker
s ha ft asse mbly. pus h [o ds and valv e Ci!PS, as
describe d pre ... iously.
(5) Rem ove cylif1der head bolts (8). Li ft cylinder
he ad (9) straight up to re mOve it from the block
of cyl i nders and crankcase.

Cover up the open ends of injection pipes and
air intake pipe to avoid entry of dirt. When
removing the gasket from
cyli nde r head, be
careful
no t to nick or mar the ~skeled surfaces
of head and blo ck . Read the torque needed 10
loosen eacl\ cylinder ht:ad boh: these ren dings
might help locating the c3use o f the tr'Ouble
report ed .
Installation
(I) PI,,, new gasket (I) on the block (2), and lower
cylmder
he ,d (3) squarely onto the gaskot.lle sure
to luv. twO guide bolt' (4) installed so th.t the
gas ktt in place will not Wft.

Using a torque wrench, tighten the cylinder head
bolts
to 12 ± 0.5 kg·m (87 "3.6 ft·lb) m the
se quence indicated by tbe ascending order of
nt1mbers., start in g with «1."
