Instruments to be sterilized must be clean, free
from any residual matter, such as debris, blood,
pads or any other material. Such substances
may damage the instruments and the autoclave
itself.
Read the following instructions to obtain a right
sterilization and maintenance of the instru-
ments and materials:
Make sure that the instruments of dif-
ferent materials (inox steel, carbon
steel, etc.) are separated and
placed on different trays.
In case of carbon steel instruments,
place a towel or paperwrap be-
tween the tray and the instruments in
order to avoid a direct contact be-
tween different materials.
All the instruments must be sterilized
in an open position.
Place a chemical indicator strip in
each tray.
Once a week, use a biological test
indicator in each tray to verify the
absence of spores.
Make sure that the instruments re-
main apart during the sterilization cy-
cle.
The empty canisters should be
placed upside down in order to pre-
vent water accumulation.
The instruments requiring a wrap
should be packed using a porous
material (such as autobag, auto-
clave paper, muslin towels, etc.)
which promotes the drying.
* DO NOT PILL UP THE TRAYS BUT USE
THE TRAY-HOLDER IN ORDER TO ALLOW
THE RIGHT STEAM CIRCULATION BE-
TWEEN THE TRAYS.
