Connecting a PC or
printer to the MI4
Depending on the device model, PCs are connected
either to the PC/PRINTER PORT or the PLC PORT of
the MI4. The different connection types are
described in the following sections.
The PC is connected to the interface for uploading or
downloading the configuration. To be configured
with a PC, the MI4 panels must be in configuration
mode.
Projects can also be downloaded to the graphic or
touch operator panels’ SSFDC memory card through
the ZB4-510-EG1 SSFDC charging device. This has
the advantage that the download is very fast.
The printer can be connected only to the
PC/PRINTER PORT. To connect a printer, set the
communication parameters in the MI4 Configurator
under “Project ➞ Report On Panel Printer ➞ Printer
Setup”.
