DESCRIPTION OF CHIPPER COMPONENTS
CHIPPER HOOD - Allows the operator access to the chipper drum.
CHIPPER POCKETS - Each drum is designed with chipper pockets to allow for accu
-
mulation until discharged.
CHIPPER KNIFE -
These are attached to the knife holder with four (4) bolts per knife.
KNIFE HOLDER - These are the xtures mounted in the drum to which the knives are
bolted.
CHIPPER SHAFT -
This shaft is connected to the drum by means of two (2) bushings,
then rests on a pair of pillow block bearings for support.
CHIPPER BEARINGS - These support the chipper drum.
CHIPPER DRUM -
This is the component in which the knives are mounted. The chip-
per drum is dynamically balanced and should not be welded on or modied.
CHIPPER BASE - The chipper base holds the chipper drum assembly and its bear-
ings. The base is a welded construction.
KNIFE ANVIL - The chipper knife cuts against the knife anvil. The knife anvil is adjust-
able.
FEED WHEEL - Feeds the material at a steady rate to the chipper drum.
NOTE: All fasteners (except for chipper knives) on this machine have loctite 242
(blue) applied before tightening.
