Messages
This feature allows you to quickly send and receive messages directly from your radios. The maximum
length of a text message is 200 characters. Local date and time is timestamped on the messages.
NOTE: This feature must be preprogrammed by a qualified radio technician. Check with your
dealer or system administrator for more information.
23.1
Creating New Messages
Procedure:
1 From the Home screen, tap New Message.
2 Use one of the following options:
Option Actions
If the recipient is on the User List Tap the target user.
If the recipient is not on the User List
a Tap New Conversation.
b Enter the user name or ID.
3 Use the keyboard to compose your message.
You can also tap Quick Message to reply by using one of the canned messages.
4 To send the message, tap Send.
23.2
Viewing Messages
Procedure:
1 From the Home screen, tap All Messages.
2 Perform one of the following actions:

To view message history, tap any selected conversation and view the message history in the
conversation view.
• To search message history, at Search History, type in either the contact name or keyword.

Deleting Messages
Procedure:
1 Tap All Messages.
2 Delete messages by using one of the following options:
