6 Installation and commissioning
44 5831400/02 EN
Suitable equipment includes isolating devices in accordance with
IEC60947-1 and IEC60947-3 (e.g. circuit breakers). Observe the properties
of the relevant circuits (voltage, maximum currents) when selecting the cir-
cuit breaker type. In addition, observe the following:
▪ It must be easy for the operator to access the isolating device.
▪ The isolating device must be labeled for the device and the circuits to be
isolated.
▪ The isolating device may not be a part of the power line.
▪ The isolating device may not interrupt the main protective conductor.
Miniature circuit breaker
You must protect the mains circuits for the main switching contacts with a
6A miniature circuit breaker with triggering characteristic C.
Conductor cross-section
For all mains circuits, you must use a conductor cross-section that is appro-
priate for the miniature circuit breaker you have selected.
6.4.1.3 Cable recommendation
Please note the following recommendation from the manufacturer when
wiring the device:
▪ Due to the intrinsic heating of the devices, the connection cables used for
the winding temperature indicator version (MT-ST160W…) must have a
temperature resistance that is 40K higher than the operating temperature.
Example: at an ambient temperature of +80°C, the temperature resis-
tance must be at least +120°C.
▪ Due to the intrinsic heating of the devices, the connection cables used for
the oil temperature indicator version (MT-ST160SK…) must have a tem-
perature resistance that is 25K higher than the operating temperature.
Example: at an ambient temperature of +80°C, the temperature resis-
tance must be at least +105°C.
▪ The cables used must be flame-resistant in accordance with
IEC60332-1-2 or UL2556VW-1.
