WARNING!
MounttheXIRPLUSwiththesensorinletfittingextendedhorizontallyfromthemainenclosure(Figure9)topreventthe
build-upofparticulateorliquidmatteronthemonitor'sopticalsurfaces.
Mountthedigitalsensorwiththesensorinletfitting(Figure10)pointeddownward;otherwise,theinletmaybecomeclogged
withparticulatematterorliquids.
Failuretofollowthiswarningcanresultinseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Sensororientationwilldependonthesensortype.IfmountinganULTIMAXIRPLUSsensor,whetherlocallyonthe
transmitterorviaremotejunctionbox,thesensorshouldbemountedhorizontally.IftheULTIMAXIRPLUSsensorisnot
mountedhorizontally,thesensorwillbepronetomorefrequentbeamblockingissuesduetoaccumulateddustand
condensationonthesurfaceoftheULTIMAXIRPLUSsensor.Figure9showsthecorrectandincorrectmounting
orientationsfortheULTIMAXIRPLUS.

Allothersensorsincludingelectrochemical,combustiblecatalyticbead,andoxygensensorsshouldbemountedvertically,
withthegasinletpointeddownward.Ifthesensorisnotmountedwiththegasinletfacingdown,itismorelikelytobecome
cloggedwithparticulatematterorliquids.Figure10showsthecorrectandincorrectmountingorientationfordigitalsensors.

3.4.4 ConnectingSensortoTransmitterHousingorRemoteJunctionBox
Sensorsarenotshippedattachedtothemainenclosureorjunctionbox.Allsensormodulesinterfacewiththetransmitter
viaadigitalfour-terminalconnection.Uptotwosensorscanbeconnectedtoasingletransmitter,witheachsensorgettinga
dedicatedanalog(4-20mA)output.
