eitherISOorJISheadconfigurations.TheWedgeDynaKeycannot
detectiftheMSRispresent,andevenifitcould,hasnowaytoindicate
thatinformationtothehostcomputer.
TheUSBDynaKeyimplementstheMSRas
aseparateUSBHIDdevice,
conformingtothepublishedHIDstandardforMSRdevices.Aswith
thekeylock,thePnPfeatureofUSBcommunicationsmakesitasimple
matterforthehostcomputerandthusthecustomer’sapplicationtobe
awareofthepresenceorabsenceoftheMSR.
Scanner port
TheWedgeDynaKeycontainsanNCRproprietaryRJ45connection
forRS232basedscanners.Thisporthasseveraltechnicallimitations,
andalimitedsubsetofNCRscannersarequalified.
TheUSBDynaKeyhasnoRJ45connectorforRS232scanners.Butsee
AdditionalPorts,below.
Additional ports
TheWedgeDynaKeyhasnoadditionalportsbeyondtheScannerport.
TheUSBDynaKeyprovidesthreestandardselfpoweredUSBports.
TheseconnectionsallowaUSBscanner,orforthatmatter,any
standardUSBdevicetobeconnectedthroughtheDynaKeytothehost
computer.

BoththeWedgeandUSBDynaKeyshaveanLEDthatindicateswhen
powerispresent.
