When a face looking
toward
the
camera
is
recognized, a
yellow
double
border (focus area)
will be displayed around
that
face.
When
the
camera detects
more
than one face, a
double
border will be displayed around the face

the camera, and single borders
around the others. When a face framed by a
Smile indicator
single border
is
tapped, the single border
changes
to
a
double
border and
the
camera will focus on
that
face.
If no face
is
recognized,
the
camera will focus on
the
subject at the center
of
the frame.
The smile indicator
is
displayed in Portrait scene mode. If
the
camera detects a smiling
face
of
the
human
subject framed by a
double
border,
the
smile indicator increases or
decreases. The smile indicator
is
not
displayed
when
the
camera selects Portrait
in
Scene auto selector scene mode.

Press
the
shutter-release button to take the picture.
Focus
is
locked
when
the shutter-release
button
is
pressed halfway, and a picture
is
taken
when
the
shutter-release
button
is
pressed
the
rest
of
the
way
down.
When
the
camera
is
unable
to
focus, the focus area blinks red. Change
the
composition
and press
the
shutter-release
button
halfway again.
