Explanation of the Engine Speed Limit
5.1.12 Mapping -> RPM Control -> RPM Control
The idle speed is calibrated by adjusting the parameters found in the “Air
RPM” and “Ignition RPM” folders respectively. The parameters in the “Air
RPM” folder are used for adjustment of an IAC valve or similar actuator that
controls the airflow. The parameters in the “Ignition RPM” folder are
adjusted to enable a stable idle control by altering the ignition.
Fine-tuning of the idle speed is ideally done by altering the ignition since the
technique of controlling air flow has inherent characteristics that makes it
more suitable for rough adjustments.
5.1.13 Mapping -> AUX -> Input
Ten auxiliary inputs are available in NIRA i7x.
Aux Analog Input
Two analog inputs, typically used for ratiometric 0-5 V sensors such as
additional pressure sensors can be utilized as auxiliary inputs. These are
configured using the tables Bv Aux Ainput1 and Bv Aux Ainput2 respectively.
