Precautions
If the unit is exposed to the following, do not operate
heater until all corrective steps have been made by a
qualied service agency.

• Running without water
IMPORTANT!
Before servicing this unit, verify that the power to the unit
is turned off prior to opening the cabinet control door.

Contains
Refrigerant!
System contains oil and refrigerant under high pressure.
Recover refrigerant to relieve pressure before opening the
system. See unit rating label for refrigerant type. Do not
use non-approved refrigerants, refrigerant substitutes, or
refrigerant additives.
Failure to follow proper procedures or the use of non-approved
refrigerants, refrigerant substitutes, or refrigerant additives
could result in death or serious injury or equipment damage.

Explosion Hazard!
● Do not use oxygen to purge or
pressurize system for leak test
● Oxygen reacts violently with oil,
which can cause an explosion

Grounding Instructions
This heat pump water heater must be grounded in
accordance with the National Electrical Code and/
or local codes. These must be followed in all cases.
Failure to ground this water heater properly may also
cause erratic control system operation.
This heat pump water heater must be connected to a
grounded metal, permanent wiring system; or an equip-
ment grounding conductor must be run with the circuit
conductors and connected to the equipment grounding
terminal or lead on the water heater.
