Startup Procedure
CAUTION
e-Series heat pumps must be on active power for at
least 12 hours before pressing the “ON” button to en-
able operation. Failure to allow this warm up time can
result in damage to the compressor. Activate both main
and 120V power feeds, and ensure the system is “off”
at the control interface during this period.
The following Startup Procedure is intended to be lled
out by a factory authorized commissioning agent ONLY.
This form is required to activate the unit’s warranty and
access factory tech support. Send this completed form
to WaterService@nyle.com
A standalone copy of the Startup Procedure is avail-
able here:

up-procedure-checklist/
CAUTION
Before starting the Startup Procedure, ensure that the
Pre-Startup Checklist has been fully completed and that the
unit has been powered for at least 12 hours before startup
to avoid unnecessary errors and/or damage to the unit
Startup Procedure and Checklist
F Verify 120V and primary power have been on for
at least 12 hours before running the unit.
F Using the “Conguration” section of this manu-
al and project documentation, set or conrm the
conguration options for this project on the con-
trol interface.
F Measure your primary power voltage, and verify
the power monitor in the electrical enclosure is
set to a voltage within +/- 5% of your measured
voltage. Adjust the “Voltage Adj” dial on the pow-
er monitor as necessary.

The Power Monitor on the main power feed is factory
set to the nameplate nominal voltage of the unit (230V
or 460V). If the voltage varies from nominal, such as
for 208V systems, it may be necessary to adjust the
power monitor to avoid nuisance trips.
F Initiate “Max Pump” on the control interface, in
the “Diagnose” section (service jumper required
on terminals 24V and i7). Ideally, the system will
reach 16 GPM, however slightly lower maximum
ow rates can be acceptable in systems with 140
degree fahrenheit or higher target water tempera-
tures. Below 16 GPM, confer with the project en-
gineer and/or your Nyle representative. Ideally,
the system will reach 16 GPM, however slightly
lower maximum ow rates can be acceptable in
design ow rate for your heat pump.
CAUTION
If Max Pump mode does not result in signicant ow,
turn the heat pump off and determine the reason for
ow restriction (closed valves, airbound, etc). Running
the internal circulator for long periods of time with no
ow can damage the circulator.
