8.2 Troubleshooting guide

The field of view and the
image are too dark or too
bright.
The examination lamp is old. Replace the examination lamp with a
new one as described in Section 6.1,
“Replacement of the examination
(xenon) lamp”.
The emergency lamp is active. Replace the examination lamp with a
new one as described in Section 6.1,
“Replacement of the examination
(xenon) lamp”.
The endoscope or light guide is not
connected to the output socket.
Connect the endoscope to the output
socket securely as described in
Section 4.4, “Connection of an
endoscope”.
The brightness is unsuitable. Adjust the brightness to a suitable level
as described in Section 5.5, “Brightness
adjustment”.
Transillumination is activated. Wait for auto return to the original level
(in about 7 seconds) or press the
transillumination button again.
The video system center and/or light
source cable is connected improperly.
Connect the video system center and
light source cable properly.
The video system center is OFF. Turn ON the video system center.
The NBI mode is set. Press the observation mode button to
return to the normal observation mode.
The objective lens is dirty Remove debris on the objective lens
according to the instruction manual for
the endoscope.
The visual field and image
color become red/green/blue
when an OES fiber
endoscope is used.
The brightness mode is set to “AUTO”. Set the brightness mode to “MANU” as
described in Section 5.4, “Setting the
brightness mode”.
The field of view and image
color are poor.
The emergency lamp is active. Replace the examination lamp with a
new one as described in Section 6.1,
“Replacement of the examination
(xenon) lamp”.
A observation mode is set. Press the observation mode button to
return to the normal observation mode.
The transillumination function
cannot be activated.
The endoscope is not connected to the
output socket.
Connect the endoscope to the output
socket securely as described in
Section 4.4, “Connection of an
endoscope”.
A light guide is connected to the output
socket, or an incompatible endoscope
is connected to the output socket.
Connect the endoscope with the
transillumination function compatibility
as described in Section 4.12,
“Inspection of the high intensity mode”.
