Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The engine speed is above 2840 RPM for more than
0.6 seconds.
Note: This event code represents an event. This
does not represent an electronic system fault.
System Response:
If equi
pped, the diagnostic lamp will come on and the
event code will be logged.
The ECM
will reset the event when the engine speed
is lower than 2640 RPM for 0.6 seconds.
Possi
ble Performance Effect:
E362-1
The fuel injection will be disabled until the event has
been reset.
Troubleshooting:
This
event indicates excessive engine speed. This
event does not represent a fault in the Engine Control
Module (ECM).
This event does not represent a fault in the Electronic
Speed/Timing Sensor.
No troubleshooting is required.

This event code will only be generated if the switch
for the fuel
temperature is installed and correctly
wired to the ECM. The feature must be enabled
in the customer programmable parameters on the
electronic
service tool.
The fuel temperature has exceeded the trip point.
Refer to Tr
oubleshooting, Event Codes” for the trip
point.

The Electronic Control Module (ECM) will log the
event.
Possible Pe rformance Effect:
There are no performance effects.

shooting:
Check the Fuel System
A. Check the heat exchanger (if equipped). Verify
that the heat exchanger is free of debris and of
obstru
ctions.
Expected Result:
A thorough inspection of the heat exchanger revealed
a problem.
Results:
OK T
here is a problem with the heat exchanger.
Repair: Make the necessary repairs. Verify that
the r
epair eliminates the problem.
STOP.
Not OK There is a problem with the fuel system.
Rep
air: Repair the problem.
Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem.
