5 Volt Senso r Supply Circ uit -
Test
System Oper
ation Description:
Use this procedure to troubleshoot the system when
one of the f
ollowing diagnostic codes is active or
easily repeated:
0262-03 5 V
olt Sensor DC Power Supply voltage
above normal
0262-04 5
Volt Sensor DC Power Supply voltage
below normal
Also, us
e this procedure to troubleshoot the system
when you have been directed here by another
troubleshooting procedure.
The following background information is related
to this procedure:
The Engine Control Module (ECM) supplies regulated
+5VDCtothefollowingsensors:
Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor through connector A-C6
Intak
e Manifold Pressure Sensor through
connector A-C7
Engin
e Oil Pressure Sensor through connector
A-C5
Fuel
Pressure Sensor through connector A-C14
Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor through
conn
ector A-C18
Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor through
con
nector E-C7
The supply for the +5 V engine pressure sensor is
rou
ted from the ECM through the A-C1 connector to
terminal 1 of each pressure sensor connector. The
supply voltage is 5.0 ± 0.16 V DC.
The +5 V diagnostic code is probably caused by a
short circuit to ground or a short circuit to another
vo
ltage source in the harness.
A diagnostic code can be caused by the following
c
onditions:
A short circuit in the harness
A suspect sensor
A suspect ECM
