Conditions Which Generate This Code:
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects an
incorrect frequency on the throttle signal or the
throttle po
sition sensor is out of the acceptable range.
System Response:
The code is logged. The ECM flags the throttle
position as invalid data and a default value of zero
percent is
used.
If equipped, the diagnostic light will be on. The
diagnost
ic code will be logged if the engine is
running. The diagnostic code will not be logged if the
engine is cranking.
Possible Performance Effect:
•
The engi
ne will default to the low idle speed.
•
The engine will remain at this speed while the
diagno
stic code remains active.
•
All inputs from the faulty throttle are ignored by the
ECM unt
il the fault is repaired.
Troubleshooting:
This diagnostic code indicates that the frequency of a
digital throttle signal is out of the normal range.
Perform the following diagnostic procedure: “Throttle
Position Sensor - Test”
