isachievedbyalwaysselectinggears

Whenyouareoperatinganewvehicle
oronethathasbeenexposedtocold
weather,youwantthetransmission
lubricant(uid)tocirculateandcoat
thecontactingsurfacesofthegears.
Metalcontactingmetalinmoving
partsmayseriouslydamageyour
transmission—donotdriveinone
gearforlongperiodsoftimeuntilthe
transmissionlubricanthasachanceto
coatallcontactingsurfaces.Carefully
observethefreetravelintheclutch
fortherstfewhundredmiles.Asthe
clutchliningwearsandhighspotsget
wornsmooth,youwillgetlessfree
travel.
