Extend the pusher as far as it will go.
Remove the closure component from the base, fit it to the pusher and secure in position
with the flap.
Push both control levers away from you in order to retract the pressure plate.
When extending and retracting the cylinder, make sure the hydraulic hoses are not
trapped!
Unlock the shut-off rod, slide it in as far as it will go and immobilise it with the spring pin.

If the pusher becomes stuck in the forward position (e.g. due to freezing), it can be retracted
by using the closure component.
Remove the closure component from the holder and insert it behind the stopper plate
on the magnetic holder.
For normal splitting operation, locking must always be disengaged.

The splitting stroke can be adjusted for shorter lengths of timber with the aid of a shut-off
rod:
