Quicksilver 805PH — System & Component Overview and Operaon
The interceptors are controlled by panel located at the helm. In auto mode, the system decides how
far the interceptors should be deployed depending on boat speed and atude. Located on the control
panel, there are two control wheels that allow you to manually control the interceptors. To lower the
bow, simply rotate the pitch wheel forward, and to raise the bow, rotate the pitch wheel down. To
correct a port list, rotate the roll wheel clockwise, while to correct a starboard list, rotate the roll
wheel counterclockwise.
Refer to the manufacturers manual for complete instrucons and warranty.
18. Exterior Helm (oponal)
An oponal exterior helm is available which allows for low speed operaon of your boat while in the
cockpit. The exterior helm, located on the forward port side of the cockpit consists of a steering
wheel, a hydraulic helm pump, a remote control, an engine stop switch with lanyard, and a bow
thruster control pad (if equipped). The control unit, located to the starboard side of the steering
wheel, acvates both the shiing and throle for the engine.
Operaon
At the main helm (located inside the cabin) and the exterior helm there is a Transferindicator light
on the control funcon pad. The light on this panel will illuminate when electronic control of the helm
on the control funcon pad. The light on this panel will illuminate when electronic control of the helm
is available.
The engine can only be inially started from the main helm with the control in the neutral posion.
Once the engine is running, the Neutralindicator will be on for the main helm. Engine control can
then be transferred to the exterior helm staon.
NOTE: The DTS control unit must be in the neutral posion (engine running, propeller not spinning) at
both helms before transferring control.
Helm Control Transfer
To switch control from the main helm to the exterior helm, start at the exterior helm with the control
in the neutral posion, press and release the Transferbuon on the engine control funcon pad.
Pressing this buon will immediately transfer throle and shi control. The Transferbuon will
illuminate and two loud beeps will be heard. This completes the helm control transfer.
To return control back to the main helm, move the control to neutral. Go to the main helm, press and
release the Transferbuon on the engine control funcon pad.
Pressing this buon will immediately transfer throle and shi control. The Transferbuon will
illuminate and two loud beeps will be heard. This completes the helm control transfer.
The steering system is independent of the helm selector switch and will operate at all mes. DO NOT
TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT THE HELM THAT DOES NOT HAVE FULL CONTROL OF THE BOAT.
