The filename of the recovery TAR file is in the following format:
recovery-aas-<major version>.<sub-version>.<sub-version>.<sub-version>-
<product number>.tar
Example:
recovery-aas-28.1.0.0-5412.tar
To reinstall the software using Windows
1. Use WinRAR to extract the recovery TAR file into a directory on your computer.
2. Open the command shell, and change the working directory to the
usb directory, which contains
mkusb.bat.
3. Plug the USB mass storage device into your computer.
4. Run the following command:
mkusb.bat <Drive letter associated with your USB device>:
Note: The trailing colon (:) is required (for example, mkusb.bat k:).
5. Follow the instructions displayed on the console. The batch file,
mkusb.bat, formats the USB
mass storage device and copies the required files into it. You need to confirm some steps of the
batch job by pressing Enter. The new volume label after formatting is not essential, so you may
leave it empty by pressing Enter. A message is displayed when the USB device is ready.
6. Unplug the USB device from your host computer.
7. Insert the USB into the Alteon device.
8. Turn on the device. The device boots from the USB.
9. Follow the instructions displayed on the console.
Note: The procedure may involve several automatic reboots. This is normal.
10. When successful, the application installation process runs automatically and displays progress
information on the console.
11. When the primary installation is completed, remove the USB from the Alteon device. The device
will prompt and wait for this confirmation.
12. Press Enter to confirm the USB is out of the Alteon device.
13. When prompted, enter the license, that you received from Radware Technical Support.
