Note: The cloud initialization service is disabled by default. To start it, run the following commands
as root, and then reboot the VM:
[root@vision ~]# chkconfig cloud-config on
[root@vision ~]# chkconfig cloud-final on
[root@vision ~]# chkconfig cloud-init on
[root@vision ~]# chkconfig cloud-init-local on
Installing APSolute Vision VA using an ISO Image
This procedure details how to install the APSolute Vision virtual appliance (VA) platform on a
VMware, KVM, or Hyper V virtual infrastructure using an ISO image with manual configuration of the
virtual machine.
Note: This procedure is for both the standard APSolute Vision VA installation and the APSolute
Vision Server with APM Server VA installation. The additional steps and resources that are required
for the APM server only are noted as such.
Prerequisites
Make sure you have the virtual infrastructure manager installed.
Make sure that the ISO image is on the local disk.
To install APSolute Vision using an ISO image
1. Create a new virtual machine of type 64-bit Red Hat/Centos Enterprise Linux 6 (with a minimum
of three network interfaces required for standard installation, and four interfaces for APM
installation).
2. Enter the amount of RAM memory required (with APM minimum 24576 MB, without APM
minimum 16384 MB).
3. Enter the number of CPUs required (with APM 12, without APM 8).
4. Create a disk image, and enter a size of at least 250 GB.
(For KVM, select Virtio as the device type.)
5. If APM is required, create another disk image and enter at least 350 GB.
(For KVM, select Virtio as the device type.)
6. Attach the ISO image to the VM's CD-ROM and make sure to boot from CD-ROM.
7. Boot the VM to begin installation.
8. In the Vision ISO application, select Install APSolute Vision... to start the installation
procedure: Options are:
APSolute Vision X.xx build xxx - for APSolute Vision VA (without APM)
APSolute Vision allinone X.xx build xxx - for APSolute Vision Server with APM Server VA
9. Type Yes to start the installation.
Note: For APM, if the VM is configured with less than 2 hard disks and 4 network adapters, the
installation will be aborted.
The machine will reboot during the installation process.
