3 General safety information
This unit is constructed securely, and does not pose a danger when used normally and in accordance with
specifications. These instructions for use describe proper procedures for using this unit.

This unit should only be installed by your RATIONAL Service Partner.
n
All maintenance on this unit should be performed by your RATIONAL Service Partner.
n
Do not modify the unit or the way your RATIONAL Service Partner has installed it.
n
Do not use the cooking system if it is damaged in general, or if the connection cable is damaged. Damaged
cooking systems are unsafe and could cause burns or other injuries.
n
Never place objects on top of the device.
Do not place hot containers or containers of hot liquids on top of the cooking system.
n
Do not stand on the pull-out shelves of the stand.
n
Do not stand on the unit.
n
Never store flammable or combustible materials near the unit.
n
Only use the unit at ambient temperatures between +50°F and +104°F.
Safety instructions before use
n
Make sure that the temperature of the unit is at least +41°F.
n
If the unit has been inactive for a longer period of time, rinse out the hand shower and the automatic water
intake with at least four gallons of water before using the unit again.
Safety instructions during use
n
Follow the minimum and maximum permitted pan fill levels [}18].
n
Do not exceed the maximum permitted pan load capacity [}18]. Maximum load capacities vary by product
and cooking path.

To avoid property damage, injury or death:
If tilting the pan causes food or liquid to spill onto the floor, clean the floor immediately. The floor must
be clean and dry in order to prevent slipping injuries.
Close the pan lid carefully, making sure not to crush your own fingers or anyone else’s.
Lower the pan carefully, making sure that no people or objects are within the travel path of the pan.
Do not place any objects on the control panel. The tilting function of the cooking system could be
triggered by placing objects on the control panel. There is a risk of injury or damage if the pan is lowered
and people or objects are within the pan’s range of travel.

Always wear personal protective equipment when boiling, sautéing, or deep-frying food.

Exercise caution when opening the pan lid during use. Hot steam may escape.
Do not fill the preheated pan with cold water.
Always tilt full pans slowly and carefully. Quick, jerky movements can cause hot food or liquid to splash
out.
When the cooking system is in use, only touch the control panel and the handle on the pan lid. The
external surfaces can heat up to temperatures exceeding 140°F.
