ThemultifunctiondisplayreceivestheimagefromaDSMwhich
processessonarsignalsfromatransducermountedinthewater.
Ifthetransducerisequippedwithaspeedpaddlewheeland
temperature-sensingthermistor,theDSMcalculatesspeedand
temperature.T oensureaccuratereadings,itmaybenecessaryto
calibratethetransducer(s)byapplyingoffsetstodepth,speedand
temperature.AsthesesettingsareheldintheDSMandrelateto
thetransducer,theyareappliedsystem-wide.
DepthOffset
Depthsaremeasuredfromthetransducertotheseabed,butyou
canapplyanoffsetvaluetothedepthdata,sothatthedisplayed
depthreadingrepresentsthedepthtotheseabedfromeitherthe
keelorthewaterline.
Beforeattemptingtosetawaterlineorkeeloffset,ndoutthe
verticalseparationbetweenthetransducerandeitherthewaterline
orthebottomofthekeelonyourvessel,asappropriate.Thenset
theappropriatedepthoffsetvalue.
