WithanoptionalAISunitconnectedtoyoursystemyoucan:

suchastheirposition,course,speedandrate-of-turn.
•Displaybasicordetailedinformationforeachtargetvessel,

thevesselsdirectionoftravelandthedistanceitwilltravelovera

withtheirvectorsarereferredtoas‘activetargets’andarescaled
accordingtothesizeofthevessel.Thelargerthevessel,thelarger
thetarget.Youcaneitherdisplayalltargetsorjustdangerous
targets.
HowAISWorks
AISusesdigitalradiosignalstobroadcast‘real-time’information
betweenvesselsandshore-basedstationsviadedicatedVHFradio
frequencies.Thisinformationisusedtoidentifyandtrackvesselsin
thesurroundingareaandtoprovidefast,automaticandaccurate
collisionavoidancedata.TheAISfeaturescomplementtheradar
application,asAIScanoperateinradarblindspotsandcandetect
smallervesselsequippedwithAIS.
