Sonartransducersshouldbecalibratedtoensureaccuratereadingsare
displayedontheMFD
.
Depthoffset
Depthsaremeasuredfromthetransducerfacetothebottom(e.g.:seabed).
Anoffsetvaluecanbeappliedtothedepthdatasothatthedisplayeddepth
readingrepresentsthedepthreadingtakenfromeitherthekeel(negative
offset)orthewaterline(positiveoffset).
Beforesettingawaterlineorkeeloffset,establishtheverticaldistance
betweenthetransducerandwaterlineorthebottomofyourvessel’skeel,as
appropriate.Thensetthisdistanceasthedepthoffsetvalue.
1.[Belowwaterline]—Thedepthreadingwillbeincreasedfromthe
transducer’ sdefaultreading.
2.[Belowtransducer]—Thisisthedefaultreadingfromthetransducer
(zerooffsetapplied).
3.[Belowkeel]—Thedepthreadingwillbedecreasedfromthetransducer’s
defaultreading.
Configuringtransducersettings
Forsystemswithatransducerconnected,aspartofsettingupyoursystem
forthefirsttimeitisimportantthatyoucorrectlyconfigureyourtransducer.
TransducerconfigurationsettingsareavailablefromtheFishfinderapp.
1.Select[Transducer]fromtheFishfinderapp’s[Settings]menu:[Menu>
Settings>Transducer]
2.Ifyourinstallationrequiredyoutoinstallanall-in-onetransducer
backwards(e.g.:thismayoccurwhenconnectingthetransducerto
atrollingmotor),thenselect[Backwards]fromthe[HVtransducer
alignment]option.Thisensuresthattheportandstarboardchannels
appearcorrectlyorientatedonscreen,otherwisekeepthedefaultsetting:
[Forwards].
3.Selectwhereyouwantyourdepthmeasurementstakenfrom:
i.Belowtransducer(default)—Nooffsetrequired
ii.Belowkeel—Enterthedistancebetweenthetransducerfaceandthe
bottomofthekeel.
iii.Belowwaterline—Enterthedistancebetweenthebottomofyourkeel
andthewaterline.
4.Y oucanconfiguretemperaturesettingsasfollows:
i.Enableordisabletemperaturereadingsasrequired.
ii.Ifenabled,checkthetemperaturereadingagainsttheactualwater
temperature.
iii.Ifthecurrentreadingrequiresadjustment,select[Calibratetemp]and
enterthedifferencebetweenyour2readings.
