2 System description

2.1 PH10 series motorised probe heads

Each of the heads in the PH10 motorised probe head range is a general purpose, versatile unit designed

speciﬁcally for use on direct computer controlled (DCC) coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

The range comprises three heads:

• PH10T

• PH10M

• PH10MQ

All the heads in the range incorporate the following features:

• 720 indexing positions

• 0.5 µm (2 s) indexing repeatability

• 7.5° indexing steps in both axes

• 300 mm extension bar capability

Additionally, the PH10M and PH10MQ heads offer the following features:

• Autochange compatibility

• Multiwired probe compatibility

Figure 1 shows the shank-mounted PH10T motorised probe head ﬁtted with a TP200 probe.
