•Transmitting
In communication band, press PTT button and hold then start
talking at approximately 2 inches from the MIC hole. During
transmitting, the LED indicator on the top of the transceiver
will glow in red. Release PTT button when you have finished
talking.
6. Advanced Operation
•Squelch Adjusting
To adjust squelch level, user can avoid unwanted signals or
noise.
(1) Press Ifi button continuously until LCD shows SOL ~3.
(2) Press fj£)/(^ft button to increase or decrease squelch
level from 0 to 9.
(3) Press Q?p button to save and quit the menu list.
UNOTE: 0 means squelch canceling; 9 means tight squelch.
|Beep Level Setting
(1) Press -fi button continuously until LCD shows 5PL "3
or Press €DI button for 2 seconds until H is flashing
then press (

(2) Press £5)/(3?) button or the dial selector to select from 0
to 5.
(3) Press Q?P button to save and quit the menu list.
^ NOTE: Beep tone is muted when level is set in 0.
HBacklit Timing Setting
(1) Press :Cl button continuously until LCD shows

is flashing then press [6 ANI) button.
(2) Press CM)/(3) button or the dial selector to select from 0
to 15 seconds.
(3) Press Q?P button to save and quit the menu list.
H NOTE: 0 means always off.
^NOTE: The setting does not affect hot key function of 'Back-
lit On/Off'.
Turn on the beep then user can know the button has been
pressed.
