5.5.3 Steering wheel
The steering wheel is connected to the rudder bar by means of an hydraulic
driven system (cylinders) able to develop a greater force, making steering
easier during navigation. The y steering pump is connected in parallel to
the dashboard pump. It is always ready to operate without having to perform
any valve disposal manoeuvres.
For a detailed description consult the specic manual.
The communication between the rudder wheel and the hydraulic unit is made
by means of electrical signals, which are interpreted by a main control unit.
CAUTION
The wheels of the rudder from the control rooms are not interlocked . Be-
fore starting the operation to make sure that the remote helm station is not
used , there are people who can operate the steering wheel.
