3.3.5 First aid kit
The rst aid box must be kept on board of class A yachts qualied for naviga-
tion“ with no limits from the coast”.
The container must be rigid, oating and with watertight closure.
ENVIRONMENT
It is forbidden to discard medicines at sea, even if expired. Treat medi-
cines as special waste and therefore in accordance with the disposal pro-
cedures envisaged by the Country in which you are staying/ transiting.
This is the minimum quantity of the medicines recommended for the Owner
to keep on board:
Disinfectant for external use;
Ammonia;
Bandages of various sizes;
Plasters;
Medicated plasters;
Cotton wool;
Scissors;
Compressed hydrophilic gauze of various sizes;
Compressed Vaseline gauze of various sizes;
Tourniquet;
Splints for fractures.
DANGER
Remember to check the expiry date and availability of the products con-
tained in the rst aid box at regular intervals.
Remember to store those medicines, which need to be kept in cool places
in the fridge.
Inform all passengers of this.
Keep the rst aid box in a place free from moisture and away from heat
sources, easily accessible, quickly reachable in case of need and far from
the reach of children.
