3.3.7 Portablere-extinguishersmaintenance

Portable re extinguishers Checks and tests Check the state of charge of each re extinguisher at least once every 12 months, and in any
case before each journey at sea, by means of the installed pressure gauge. The re extinguish-
er is correctly charged when the weight value is as stated on the re extinguisher’s tag, and the
charge indicator on the pressure gauge is in the green area.
If they are found to be discharged or insufciently charged, or at least every 10 years, have
qualied technicians:
• Check the condition of the container (cylinder);
• Rell the extinguishing medium;
• Carry out a hydrostatic test.
Have re extinguishers recharged even after partial use.
MAINTENANCE
At least every 12 months, and, in any case, before each journey to sea, check the state of
charge of the re extinguisher.
At least every 10 years, and in any case before each journey to sea, check the external state
of the re extinguisher.
At least every 6 months check the fastening of the re extinguisher.
