3 - SAFETY DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT57
DANGER
Before activating the re-ghting system, make sure nobody is inside the
engine room and system room. Once checked that the re is totally extin-
guished, before entering the room, ventilate it for a long time by opening
the hatches, and remove any powder FM-200 deposits carefully.
DANGER
The automatic re extinguishing system does not block the possible es-
cape of oil, only suitable tie-rods are able to block this.
Always apply the tie rods “FUEL” in the event of a discharge.
DANGER
The chemical agents for extinguishing res and the residues of a dis-
charge system are toxic. To avoid diseases, injuries or death caused by
the breathing of the fumes, make sure that nobody stays in the engine
room during the system discharge.
DANGER
The safety pin inserted prevents the activation of the manual release (via
the tie rod).
WARNING
An automatic re-ghting system can cause re to spread out again. If re
spreads again, the passengers on board are in danger. Even the opening
of the engine room access hatch can cause through oxygen a new re
spread. If re spreads out again, to avoid heavy injuries or even death,
do not open the hatch or engine room access door until the re has been
completely extinguished.
WARNING
Before entering in the engine room and system room after a re, make
sure that this has been completely extinguished. Before entering those
room ventilate them by opening the hatchways.
DANGER
The re-extinguishing cylinder/s has a safety pin. Check that the above-
mentioned pin has actually been removed. If this is not the case, should re
spread out, the cylinder/s would be jammed and would not discharge with
consequent possibility of heavy damages to your yacht up to its sinking.
