ThetemperaturegradesareA(thehighest),BandC,representingthetire’sresistanceto
thegenerationofheatanditsabilitytodissipateheatwhentestedundercontrolled
conditionsonaspecifiedindoorlaboratorytestwheel.Sustainedhightemperaturecan
causethematerialofthetiretodegenerateandreducetirelife,andexcessive
temperaturecanleadtosuddentirefailure.ThegradeCcorrespondstoalevelof
performancewhichallpassengercartiresmustmeetundertheFederalMotorVehicle
SafetyStandardNo.109.GradesAandBrepresenthigherlevelsofperformanceonthe
laboratorytestwheelthantheminimumrequiredbylaw.

inflatedandnotoverloaded.Excessivespeed,underinflation,orexcessive
loading,eitherseparatelyorincombination,cancauseheatbuildupand
