1.1 FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS
The Solu Comp II analyzers offer the choice of single
or dual sensor input with measurement choices of
pH/ORP and conductivity/resistivity. The pH measure-
ment option offers field configurable measurement
units as pH, ORP, or Redox. The conductivity meas-
urement option has measurement unit choices of con-
ductivity and resistivity.
QUICK START PROGRAMMING: Exclusive Quick
Start screens appear the first time the Solu Comp II is
powered up. Screen prompts direct the user to regis-
ter the number of sensors, the measurement unit(s),
and language. For conductivity measurement, the cell
constant must also be registered. The Solu Comp II
automatically sets reasonable default values for the 4-
20 mA output and chooses the standard temperature
correction algorithm. The unit is ready for use in a
matter of minutes.
MENUS: Menu screens for calibrating and program-
ming are simple and intuitive. Plain-language prompts
guide the user through the procedures. There are no
service codes to enter before getting access to
menus.
DUAL SENSOR INPUT AND OUTPUT: The Solu
Comp II accepts single or dual sensor inputs. The two
4-20 mA outputs can be independently programmed
to correspond to selected measurements or tempera-
ture. Output dampening is available.
ALARMS: The Solu Comp II has three fully program-
mable alarm relays that can be assigned to selected
measurements or temperature. Alarms can be config-
ured as high, low, or USP 23*. To warn of the
approach of an out of limits condition, the USP 23*
alarm can be programmed to activate when the con-
ductivity is within a user-selectable percentage of the
limit. The third relay is configurable as a fault alarm.
The relay activates when a sensor or analyzer fault
occurs.
ENCLOSURE: The panel mount version fits standard
1/2 DIN panel cutouts, and its shallow depth permits
easy mounting in Hoffman-type enclosures.
DISPLAY: The two-line, 16-character, back-lit display can
be customized to meet user requirements. All operations
and descriptive messages can be field selected for
English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, or
Portuguese. Information screens, which permit data not
shown in the regular display to be seen, are available at
the push of a button.
TEMPERATURE CORRECTION:
Conductivity: Choose from high purity water
(dilute sodium chloride), cation conductivity (dilute
hydrochloric acid), or an adjustable linear tempera-
ture coefficient (0 to 5.00%/°C). The high purity
water and cation conductivity corrections are appli-
cable to 100°C. The linear temperature correction
applies between -5 and 200°C. Temperature correc-
tion can be disabled, allowing the analyzer to dis-
play raw conductivity.
pH: Choose from standard measurement compen-
sation, solution temperature correction for high puri-
ty or dilute base solutions, and custom temperature
correction. When reading ORP/Redox, no tempera-
ture corrections are required.
SENSORS:
Conductivity: The Solu Comp II is intended for use
with the ENDURANCE Model 400 series conductiv-
ity sensor (Pt 1000 RTD). It can be used with other
Rosemount Analytical sensors having titanium elec-
trodes and a Pt 1000 RTD.
pH: Rosemount Analytical’s full line of pH and ORP
sensors are compatible with the Solu Comp II
(Pt100 or Pt1000 RTD is required for pH tempera-
ture correction and for temperature measurement
functions).
