4.1) Removal
of
engine
from
aircraft
Prior
to
removal
of
engine from
the aircraft, carry out
the
following:
-
Cool
down engine
first.
-
Disconnect
battery.
-
Drain
cooling
system.
Since coolant is not
just
plain
water
but antifreeze concentrate,
store
for re-use.
-
Remove
carburetor from intake
manifold.
Block fuel line
from
tank
to
pump
(close
fuel
tap).
Pull
off
fuel
hose from
pump
inlet.
-
Sever oil circuit by disconnecting
oil line from
tank to oil
pump
and
return
line from
engine
to oil tank.
-
Drain motor
oil.
-
Disconnect
pick-up
cables
for ignition
circuit A
and
B
and
for rev.-counter.
-
Disconnect
pick-up
cables for hour-meter,
temperature and
pressure
indication.
-
Disconnect
the eight high voltage
leads from
the
spark
plugs.
-
Remove
exhaust
system.
-
Remove any
obstnrctions like covers
and divisions, air
guides
etc.

REMEMBER!
Sever wire on every wire-secured
bolt before
removal.
