Important note regarding calibration and analog references
for TM3-Primus
The TM3-Primus features unbalanced RCA input for operation with ana-
log signals. In a professional environment there is a clear standard for the
analog reference. For most german speaking countries this is +6 dBu for
0 dB display on a PPM DIN5 scale.
TM3-Primus has been calibrated at RTW to match this standard.
The software will automatically adjust the reference level according to
the chosen country during initial boot up. With a scale change like for
instance a British scale this would mean an automatic referencing to
+8dBu for display 6. With a VU instrument for example with the country
selection US it would automatically be +4 dBu for 0 dB on display.
It is mandantory for this to be true that the physical adjust-
ment has been made to read 0 dB on a DIN5 scale with an external
signal of 997Hz/+6 dBu and a german speaking country selection
whereas the internal software setting for the reference shall also
be set to be +6 dBu.
Any readjustment should be made if even possible by the use of the soft-
ware integrated reference level setting for the analog input.
For those cases in which the provided range is not suffi cient the physical
input sensitivity may be recalibrated using the potentiometer on the rear
side of the unit to match with the needs of the application.
