The descaling process consists of four stages:
• Cooling down of the machine, the "cooling down routine" (ca. 5 – 10 min).
• System descaling (ca. 36 min).
• 3-fold system rinsing (ca. 8 min per rinse).
• Preparing the machine for use (ca. 5 min).
The display provides guidance through the entire descaling process.
► Select the menu "Care".
► Select the "Descaling" field.
► Follow the optional display instruction for machines with a mains water supply. See option
"With water filter".
► Confirm the "Start descaling" display instruction by pressing "Continue".
The descaling process cannot be interrupted.
1. "Cooling down routine" descaling step
Once the machine is at working temperature, the "cooling down routine" has to be started with
[YES].
► Touch the [YES] field.
The cooling down routine starts.
The "Fill water tank to max." display instruction appears.
► The [No] field
Leads to the next descaling step.
► Fill and insert the water tank. Confirm the ensuing display requests with [Continue].
The "Place container under outlets" display instruction appears.
► Place the previously provided 5 l container under the outlets and confirm the display in-
struction. (for machines with a waste water outlet (optional), confirm the display instruc-
tion).
The "cooling down routine" begins (ca. 5-10 min).
A display instruction to empty the container and drip tray appears.
► Empty the container and drip tray and place them under the outlets again.
2. "Descaling" descaling step
► Follow the optional display instruction for machines with an internal water filter. See option
"With water filter".
► Fill the internal drinking water tank with the correct mixture ratio of Schaerer liquid descaler
and water and then insert it.
Prepare a descaling solution with a mixture ratio of 1 to 1.5:
• Pour 2 bottles of liquid descaler (2 x 0.75 l) = 1.5 l in the drinking water tank.
• Fill an empty liquid descaler bottle (0.75 l) with water 3 times and add the contents to the
drinking water tank each time = 2.25 l
► Insert the drinking water tank with the descaling solution.
► Continue the descaling process by pressing the field "Continue".
► Follow the display instruction to "Place container under outlets".
The descaling process begins.
After the descaling process the instruction appears to rinse out the drinking water tank
and empty the collecting container and drip tray.
